LAHORE August 18 (TNS): Punjab government vowed to provide low-cost housing scheme across the province for citizens with lower income.

Under the scheme, transparent balloting for allotments of plots (3 to 5 Marla) would be conducted on August 24.
More than 17 thousand applications have been received under this scheme launched by the Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, according to the announcement of the Punjab government.
Under government Scheme, a price of Rs. 158,000 per Marla has been fixed, whereas plots are being sold in nearby societies for five hundred thousand rupees per Marla.
According to the announcement of Punjab government, such affordable residential schemes will be launched very soon for people with low income in Sialkot, Lodhran, Renala Khurd and Chishtiyan.
