Lahore resident allegedly injured by police passes away

LAHORE Aug 19 (TNS): A man who was seriously injured on Saturday after a policeman allegedly pushed him off of a road adjacent to an underpass succumbed to his injuries.

According to the injured man’s family, Zohaib was travelling with his friends on Tuesday when a policeman allegedly stopped the car in Lahore’s Garden Town vicinity and demanded a bribe. On the refusal, he pushed the man off the road seriously injuring him in the process.

The family of the deceased man, who was then under treatment at Jinnah Hospital, made an appeal for justice to the Punjab chief minister and senior police officials.

SP Model Town Division Hunain Haider said that “the investigation of this incident is underway.”
