Beijing, August 22 (TNS): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has lauded Pakistan’s contributions and great sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism.
He was talking to Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Beijing on Tuesday.
The Chinese Foreign Minister said the international community should fully recognize these efforts.
President Trump while presenting America’s new policy pertaining to the war in Afghanistan also lambasted Pakistan for allegedly harbouring “agents of chaos, violence, and terror”.
The Chinese top diplomat reaffirmed Beijing’s continuing and firm support to Pakistan and vowed to further strengthen all-weather strategic friendship with Pakistan.
The Foreign Secretary reiterated Pakistan’s support to China on all issues of its core interest.
Pakistan and China agreed to continue close consultations on efforts for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan and underscored the importance of the Trilateral Afghanistan-China-Pakistan Foreign Minister’s meeting.
The two officials also discussed Pak-China relations, regional, global issues as well as the situation in occupied Kashmir.
Tehmina Janjua reiterated Pakistan’s support to China on all issues of its core interest.
She said the recent visit of Vice-Prime Minister Wang Yang on the occasion of the country’s 70th Independence anniversary had further solidified the time tested friendship between the two neighbouring countries.
