QUETTA, Aug 24 (TNS): On a tip-off from the citizens, the civil defense department foiled a major terror bid here on Thursday as it recovered a bomb and got it defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS).
The civil defense department on getting information from the citizens regarding presence of suspicious bag by roadside in Kuchlak area of Quetta reached the scene along with BDS team.
During search of the bag, a locally manufactured bomb weighing 25 kilogram was recovered. The BDS personnel defused the bomb.
The Civil Defense officials said that the bomb could have rendered heavy property and life losses if it had exploded but in time action foiled the bid.
