Heavy rain turns weather pleasant across country

LAHORE Aug. 25 (TNS): Heavy rain in parts of the country has turned weather pleasant whereas it has also caused severe problems for the locals.

According to details, the water level in Lai Nullah has risen to 17 feet due to downpour in Rawalpindi and Islamabad while Dhok Kashmirian and Dhok Kala Khan are also flooded with rain water. At Committee Chowk and Mukhah Singh cars got drowned in high water, same was the case at Sarfaraz Road.

The passengers at Benazir International Airport have faced immense difficulties as water inundated their luggage as it entered airport.

Meanwhile, the rainy weather in Lahore has also beaten the heat while other cities of Punjab including Sheikhupura and Sialkot are also witnessing the rainfall.

On the other hand, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain-thunderstorm (with few heavyfalls) accompanied by gusty winds is expected at scattered places in upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions), upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions), Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir. Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is also expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Bannu, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions.

Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
