PIA inflicts Rs47.03 bn loss on national exchequer

ISLAMABAD Aug. 29 (TNS): In a startling revelation, it has been learnt that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has caused national exchequer to suffer a whooping loss of Rs47.3 billion.

The auditor general’s report 2016-17 stated that Rs37.15 bn were spent on unnecessary repair work by the officials whereas another Rs4.7 bn were lost to non-effective accords.

Similarly Rs2.57 were lost to catering agreements and Rs960 million to non-payments from govt’s departments, Rs40.6 mln were lost over irregular appointments and Rs120.88 mln to unnecessary agreements.
