Nawaz was real target in Dharnas, Panama saga: says Maryam

LAHORE, Aug 29 (TNS): Former First Daughter, Maryam Nawaz, on Tuesday said her father was real target in both Dharnas and in Panama saga.

She was addressing to party workers on occasion of inauguration of an election campaign office of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in Mozang Chungi in Lahore.

Addressing the audience, she questioned if the voters were willing to accept the Supreme Court’s verdict which ousted her father from PM House?

The former premier’s daughter said her father remained quiet for four years but [political rivals] are uncomfortable now that he is speaking up for himself.

She claimed that Nawaz Sharif was proved both sadiq and ameen (truthful and honest) in the apex court.

Maryam initiated a tour of the NA-120 constituency on Tuesday as part of the election campaign for NA-120 by-polls as her mother is undergoing cancer treatment in London.

She said Nawaz Sharif will leave for UK on Wednesday to inquire after health of ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

Maryam first stop was at the Daata Darbar, where she offered prayers and.

She added that she would also leave for London after the election campaign.

Speaking at the Sufi shrine, Maryam said her father is speaking after a long time and people should have the patience to listen to him.

Maryam’s husband, MNA Capt (retd) Safdar, will be accompanying her during her visit to the constituency.
