Young entrepreneur Ali Jahangir Siddiqui can be a game-changer in govt business too

Islamabad, August 31 (TNS): Appointment of Ali Jahangir Siddiqui as Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been appreciated for his vast experience, education and sound financial background.

Ali Jahangir Siddiqui, who is chairman of JS Private Equity Management and board member of Air-Blue, is highly qualified and well-educated young entrepreneur whose skills have been proved a key of success for these companies.

Ali is a patriotic and devoted young leader as he always dreamed and worked hard for betterment of Pakistan.

Under his leadership JS group achieved tremendous success and paid record Rs 12 billion income/wealth tax which is largest tax collection by a single business group in history of the country.

Ali has some public sector experience as well, having served as a member of the Privatisation Commission, a member of the Private Sector Advisory Board of the Planning Commission, a member of the Sindh Board of Investment, and as a member of the Community Development Board of the Government of Sindh.

He also previously served as executive director of JS Investments. Before moving to Pakistan in 2002, Siddiqui worked in Hong Kong as a director with Crosby Capital, an Asian private equity asset management firm that managed over US$400 million including funds managed on behalf of the Hong Kong and Korean governments.

Siddiqui’s other business interests include the UAE-based Arabian Gulf Steel – Canadian oil and gas company Jura Energy, UAE-based RAK Ghani Glass, and Saudi-based Star Marine

Siddiqui holds a BA in economics from Cornell University in New York and was honoured by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2014.

Besides his achievements in business, Ali formed a welfare organization ‘Mehwish Jahangir Foundation’ to serve the less privileged people in our society.

After his appointment as Special Assistant to PM, his energetic and enthusiastic approach would be proved beneficial for the country.

He relies on latest technology and modern & systematic ways to run business and this approach in government institutions would be proved a game-changer.
