Ansar-al-Sharia’s fugitives apprehended during raids in Balochistan, Punjab

QUETTA / MULTAN, Sep 07 (TNS): At least five suspected terrorists belong to terror group Ansar-al-Sharia, have been arrested by law enforcement agencies from Quetta, Pishin and Multan.

The arrests were made during raids on early Thursday morning and arrested suspects are believed to be mastermind behind brainwashing operatives, local media quoting officials reported.

According to reports, Professor Mushtaq from Karachi University was detained in Quetta whereas Mufti Habib was apprehended from Pishin.

Meanwhile, intelligence agencies raided Multan areas and arrested Talha Ansari, an alleged fugitive terrorist of Ansar-al-Sharia.

The detained terrorist, Talha Ansari, was hiding in Multan after fleeing from Karachi, where police has been actively conducting a crackdown against the Ansarul Sharia group, sources said.

The accused group came to the forefront when evidence was found and arrests were made after the attack on Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan last week.
