Karachi, Sept 12 (TNS): The in-charge of the Counter-Terrorism Department’s Sectarian Terrorists Intelligence Group (STIG) has been dismissed from service for sharing sensitive information with a member of a political party’s militant wing.

Inspector Syed Ali Raza has been sacked for providing classified information to Umair Siddiqui, the in-charge of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s Gulshan-e-Maymar Sector.

While being interrogated by a joint investigation team, Siddiqui disclosed that Raza, the in-charge of CTD Garden Cell which has now been renamed the STIG, had provided classified documents to him.

Additional IG CTD Sanaullah Abbasi then ordered an inquiry against Raza.
