SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 14 (TNS): Three robbers were killed while their three accomplices managed to escape after exchange of intense midnight fire with police here, officials say on Thursday.
DPO Sheikhupura Sarfaraz Khan said that the police launched crackdown against looters near Sharqpur area of Sheikhupura. The notorious, wanted criminals present in the area started firing at police which led to an encounter.
In retaliatory firing of police notorious robber Mazhar alias Mazhari was killed along with his two cohorts while three accomplices managed to escape.
Mazhar alias Mazhari was involved in murder of two policemen besides dozen others crimes. The bodies of killed robbers were killed were shifted to hospital for postmortem.
