RAWALPINDI, Sept 16 (TNS): Saddar Wah police have busted a car lifters gang and arrested its three members besides recovering three stolen vehicles and cash Rs1.2 million from their possession.

According to Sub-Inspector, SHO Saddar Wah Police Station, Yasir Rabbani, Saddar Wah police have rounded up three members of an inter-provincial gang of car-lifters namely Imran Ali son of Liaquat resident of Peshawar, Tanveer Hussain Shah s/o Syed Feroz Shah r/o Mohallah Malikabad, New Westridge, Bhatta Chowk Masrial Road Rawalpindi and Muhammad Zaheen s/o Muhammad Ramzan r/o Kotli Sattian.
Thirteen cases were registered against the accused in Saddar Wah and Gujar Khan police stations, he added. He said, on the directives of City Police Officer, Rawalpindi Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, a police team under his supervision was constituted to control car lifting cases particularly in jurisdiction of Saddar Wah police station.

The team after hectic efforts unearthed the gang and managed to net criminals involved in car snatching and lifting, he added.
The gang members confessed to have lifted vehicles from different areas of Rawalpindi. A case has been registered against the nabbed persons while further investigation was underway.
