12 suspects in Karachi overnight raids nabbed

KARACHI Sept 19 (TNS): Law enforcement Agencies arrested 12 suspects including drug peddlers and bandits during overnight raids in different parts of the city.

Police along with Rangers personnel conducted door-to-door operation in Bilal Colony and Mehran Town, arresting 12 suspects.

In another joint raid in Tipu Sultan and Bahadurabad areas of the metropolis, the LEAs apprehended seven other suspects for being involved in drug peddling and other heinous crimes.

Police also recovered a stolen motorcycle and weapon from their possession.

Separately, a stray bullet injured a man – who has been identified as Imtiaz – in Lyari’s Bihar colony. He has been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

In another incident, police claimed to arrest an absconder from Boat Basin area of the city, who fled from police captivity while being shifed to Landhi Jail in June this year. The fugitive has been identified as Sikandar Hayat.

Meanwhile, police detained 50 miscreants during raids carried out in Jamshoro, Kotri, and Sehwan on suspicion of their involvement in criminal activities.

However, no further details with regard to identification of the suspects were shared.
