Rescue 1122 marks International Day of Peace

Rawalpindi, Sept 21 (TNS): ON directions of the Director General, Dr. Rizwan Naseer (SI) the Punjab Emergency Service, (Rescue 1122) marked International Day of peace in all districts of Punjab. DG Emergency Service directed all District Emergency Officers (DEOs) to utilize trained Rescue Mohafiz/ CERTs for further awareness related to Peace promotion and community resilience in all Union Councils of Punjab to achieve healthy, peaceful, safer and resilient communities in Punjab.

In this regard an event has been organized at Central Rescue Station Rawal Road Rawalpindi in collaboration with Voluntary Service Overseas VSO Pakistan to promote peace with the commitment from Rescue Mohafiz and concerned stakeholders working for same cause. The Founder of Emergency Service was the Chief Guest whereas representatives from National and International organizations, Rescue Officers, Officials and a large number of volunteers participated in the event.

Dr Abdur Rahman District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi and Ms Deeba Shahnaz Head of Community Safety and Information Headquarters well come all dignitaries and Rescue Mohafiz (volunteers) attached with Rescue 1122 demonstrated Emergency Response Skills to show the community capacity for any untoward incident.

The Chief Guest Dr Rizwan Naseer DG inaugurated Pakistan Youth Initiative Engaging Youth for Building Community Resilience initiative by ribbon and cake cutting and observing one minute silence.

Speaking on the occasion Director General Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer, S.I  Chief Guest of the ceremony said that every year the International Day of Peace is celebrated around the world to promote the significance and commit to peace and harmony above all differences and to contribute towards peace-building.

The Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Pakistan is already providing sense of safety to all citizens without any discrimination and now have initiated “Pakistan Youth Initiative-Engaging Youth for Building Community Resilience and Promoting Social Cohesion” initiative with the support of Voluntary Service Overseas VSO.
