ISLAMABAD Sep 25 (TNS): Chairman National Accountability Bureau Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that eradication of corruption from the country is the prior responsibility of NAB while addressing the 22nd conference of NAB held on Monday.

Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry presided over the NAB 22nd conference in Islamabad. Deputy Chairman, Prosecutor General Accountability, Advisors, senior member CIT, All regional bureaus DGs, DG headquarter, DG Human Recourse Development, DG media and DG training participated in the conference.

Talking about the performance of NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that eradication of corruption from the country is the prior responsibility of NAB. The NAB workers and officers are fulfilling their responsibilities considering the eradication of corruption their national duty.

Chairman NAB said that NAB has assigned the duration of 10 months from the date of the registration of complaint till the registration of reference, while no other agency in the world did the same job which is working for the eradication of corruption.

Chairman NAB further said that NAB has signed an agreement with China for the sake of transparency in the CPEC project.

NAB has submitted Rs290 billion in the national asset since its establishment which is a great success in the record.

Chairman NAB further said that NAB performance has been markedly improved due to the steps he has taken during last four years and the initiatives have been appreciated internationally.

Rs50 billion received from corrupt elements were submitted by NAB in the national asset during last four years.  As a result NAB’s assigning punishment to corrupt element rate is 76% now.
