ISLAMABAD SEP 28 (TNS): The meeting of Standing Committee of National Assembly on Media and Broadcasting was held here on Thursday.
Press information officer Saleem Baig gave briefing regarding the performance of Press Information Department (PID) in the meeting.
Malik Amir Dogar said that the funds given to PID are being used by the government for their publicity and millions of rupees are given to the organizations which speak in the favor of government. The PID funds should be rather used to promote the positive image of Pakistan.
Chairman Committee Aslam Bodla said that he agrees with the opinion of the committee regarding the usage of the PID funds.
Muhammad Khan Daha said that in Pakistan, Indian dubbed cartoons are being shown to the children in various media channels while anti-Pakistan campaigns are already being run in some foreign countries.
