Srinagar, October 3 (TNS): A Police Head Constable, was shot dead by militants near Awantipora’s Padgampora village in Pulwama in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
This incident came hours after the Indian Army martyred two youth in occupied valley’s Tangdhar district.
Armed police and paramilitary soldiers in riot gear patrolled streets and blocked roads with razor wire and steel barricades.
Freedom fighter groups have been fighting since 1989 for the Indian-administered portion to become independent or merge with Pakistan.
Nearly 70,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the ensuing Indian military crackdown.
India maintains roughly 500,000 soldiers in the territory.
