KARACHI, Oct 11 (TNS): Pakistan Rangers special policing powers in Sindh have been extended for another 90 days. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday extended the powers to paramilitary force. According to spokesperson for CM House, the period of special powers granted to Rangers was set to expire on October 12. However, Shah signed the summary regarding a 90-day extension in policing powers. As per the special powers granted to Rangers under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the paramilitary force, which has had a presence in Karachi for several years, can take independent action against criminals and suspected terrorists.
