CM for completion of road from Thokar Naiz Baig to Hadyara drain before time

LAHORE Oct 16 (TNS): Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif said that the extension and expansion project of road from Thokar Naiz Baig to Hadyara Drain will facilitate the people in their mobility and completion of this project will also help to maintain the smooth flow of traffic coming from Multan  and other cities to Lahore so this project needs to be completed with same speed as the prior tasks have been finished.

He was addressing a high-level meeting through video-link which reviewed the project of road extension and expansion from Thokar Naiz Baig to Hadyara Drain.

While addressing the meeting CM said that this project is of vital importance to keep traffic smooth from Multan and other cities in Lahore and completion of this project will bring much facilitation for common people.

He directed to take special measures and ensure quality and speed of project in order to complete it before stipulated time as per norm of Punjab Government. He said that the government of Punjab has set a new scale regarding the acceleration and excellence of the projects and same criteria has to be followed regarding execution of this project.

The Chief Minister also directed to form a steering committee under the supervision of Provincial Minister for Planning and Development and Chief Sectary which will be responsible for implementation of all the matters of the project.

He also ordered to make effective alternative arrangements of traffic during the implementation of this project so that public have to face least endurance. Punjab government has introduced the culture of working 24 hours on the projects and same time schedule should be followed for this project, he added.

Chairman National Highway Authority briefed the meeting about the project. Provincial Minister Planning and Development Malik Nadeem Kamran, MNA Afzal Khokhar, Chief Secretary, Chairman National Highway Authority, Secretary Construction and Communication, Chairman Planning and development and other concerned officials attended the meeting through video-link.
