Peshawar, Oct 16 (TNS): A drone targeted a compound along bordering area between Pakistan and Afghanistan, killing four suspects, local media reported on Monday.

“Three remotely piloted aircraft had been seen buzzing over the area hours before one of them fired missiles at the compound in the Maqbal area of Kurram Agency,” reports suggested

He added that the compound was reduced to rubbles in the attack, killing all four people inside. Identities of the slain people could not be ascertained immediately.

Local political administration confirmed the drone strike but said it was trying to find out whether the area was in Pakistan’s territory.

The drone strike came days after Pakistan Army rescued a Canadian-American couple and their three children in an intelligence-based operation in the same Kurram Agency.

On Sunday, four Pakistani troops searching for the kidnappers, who had fled during the operation, were martyred in a roadside bomb attack in the region.
