KARACHI Oct 23 (TNS): A security consultant who works with the ICC, FICA and various international cricket boards reached the National Stadium on Monday to review and discuss security arrangements for proposed PSL matches next year.

Reg Dickason of Eastern Star International, a security firm that advises security on ICC, FICA and various boards, arrived in Karachi over the weekend and was received by Pakistan Cricket Board’s head of security Colonel Azam.

He is also scheduled to meet Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and IG Sindh A.D. Khawaja later in the day.

Heavy contingents of police and commandos were deployed around the National Stadium ahead of the security expert’s visit.

Dickason was roped in by the PCB in an attempt to regain the world’s confidence in security arrangements in Pakistan. He was also involved in security arrangements for World XI team’s recent visit to Lahore.

The security consultant has a law enforcement background spanning in excess of 16 years, during which he worked predominantly in specialist criminal investigation units and national task forces targeting organised crime.

Following his police career, Dickason established companies which provided close protection to diplomats, politicians, international sporting teams and high-net worth individuals globally.

He has been contracted as a security consultant and advisor for numerous international sporting events since 1996 and has managed international teams as well.

The PCB aims to hold two to four matches of next PSL season in Karachi.
