SEHWAN, Oct 23 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan lamented on Monday that the entire government machinery is busy saving ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Speaking to reporters in Sehwan, where he held a rally a day earlier, Imran Khan took a jab at Sindh government on barring him from entering Lal Qalandar’s shrine.

“The democratic way is to hold early elections as PML-N government is putting every efforts to save Nawaz Sharif” he remarked.

He strongly criticized the Sindh Government for stopping him  from entering the Shrine of Shahbaz Qalandar.

“I have never witnessed such incident in Pakistan’s recorded history where government barred anyone from entering shrine. Lame excuses of armed guards were used but video recordings are available which dismiss their (Sindh govt) claims,” Khan said.

“They (PPP) have transformed Sindh in a police state while natives have been enslaved,” Khan stated while adding, “Revenge actions, torturing people through police and to spread terror is what is common here”.

Khan said that PPP can’t win a seat in Sindh if police are reformed while forecasting at the same time that PPP would lose 2018 polls in Sindh for the first time. Khan repeated demand of early elections and termed Zardari’s call of Nawaz’s arrest as symbol of doomsday.

Keeping verbal onslaught up, Khan warned political rivals that nation wouldn’t accept any new NRO.

While responding to question, Khan dismissed role of establishment behind demand of early elections. He said that future of MQM lies in detachment from Altaf Hussain.

The PTI chief said, “it is a sad state of affairs when the elected prime minister (Shahid Khaqan Abbasi) considers Nawaz the real premier”.

Answering a question about the party’s call for early elections, he said this was not a personal demand of the PTI but “a need of the hour”. Imran said the people will not accept any NRO this time around. “We will take out the entire country to the streets otherwise,” he said, adding that they want the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case started forthwith.

Earlier, the PTI chief regretted being denied entry to the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in Sehwan. He said the administration made scores of “lame excuses”, saying we had armed guards with us but “footage shows that that is not true”.

He also thanked PTI’s leader, Sardar Rind, for the successful rally.

Standing alongside PTI leader Jahangir Tareen, Imran said the heads of institutions such as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and Federal Board of Revenue are appointed by the ruling party. “There’s a difference between them and the Supreme Court, which is an independent institution,” he added.

The PTI chief claimed further that criticizing the ECP is his democratic right. He also criticized the issuance of his warrants by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) over a “peaceful protest”.

In response to a question, he said the future of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement lies in its complete disassociation from the party’s London-based founder, Altaf Hussain.
