KARACHI: Oct 25 (TNS):  Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said on Wednesday that the Karachi Operation, initiated in 2013, was the world’s best targeted operation because there was no loss of innocent life.

The chief minister Sindh made the remarks during a meeting with Foreign Service Academy’s delegation.

Murad said that under the National Action Plan in the province, 1,028,218 criminals were caught while 1,258 were killed.

“The Karachi operation would not have been a success without the support of the citizens,” said the chief minister Sindh. The people of Sindh are brave and capable of bracing difficulties, said Murad.

“Whoever tried to deteriorate Karachi’s situation, personally suffered damage,” said Shah in an apparent reference towards political rivals including MQM (London).

He said that infrastructure of Karachi is being worked upon due to which investments will increase in the metropolis.

The operation against criminal elements in Pakistan’s commercial hub was initiated back in September 2013 after the federal cabinet empowered Rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police.
