International survey result shows PML-N, Shahbaz Sharif enjoy vast popularity

Washington, Oct. 28 (TNS): US based Global Strategic Partners (GSP) released a national survey of Pakistan public opinion which shows vast popularity of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The survey covered top issues, approval ratings, and next year’s elections.

According to survey, 53% voters think that Shahbaz Sharif would be a better Prime Minister than Imran Khan who bagged 39% votes.

“65% voters like Shahbaz Sharif as a person as compared to Imran Khan as 51% like him as a person.

A summary of the results says that due to tireless efforts of PML-N government, voters are generally felt good about security, law and order, and development.

PML-N maintains a lead in the ballot test at 38 percent, with PTI in a very strong second place at 27 percent. PPP is in third with 17 percent.

Overall the PML-N federal government had a strong job approval rating at 58 percent.

Majority voters believe the situation of the country would going to be better next year for positive indicators in fields including economy, Law and Order, Security, Political Stability and Load-shedding.

The survey also tested some of the names of potential successors to Nawaz Sharif that have been mentioned in the press. Current Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has emerged as the best choice of the potential PML-N candidates.

The survey consisted of 4,540 in-home, in-person interviews and is nationally representative of Pakistanis 18 years of age and older. The confidence interval was +/- 1.5 percent at the midrange with a confidence level of 95 percent.
