Islamabad, Oct. 3 (TNS): Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (SAW) Pakistan and federal government signed an agreement to end week long protest.
Both sides agreed upon six-point accord after long discussions between top government officials and Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (SAW) leaders.
Government side which participated in talks was comprise of Railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Minister of state, Interior Talal Chaudhry, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Capt (R) Mushtaq Ahmed and other officials of Islamabad administration.
While Chairman Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (SAW) Pakistan Moulana Ashraf Asif Jilali, Central leader of Pakistan Suni Tehrik Moulana Shadab Raza Qadri, Provincial chief of Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (SAW) Pakistan Dr. Muhammad Zaffar Jalali and member central coordination committee of Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (SAW) Pakistan Muhammad Asif Ali Jalali represented Tehreek’s side.
According to agreement signed by both parties, following points were agreed:
- The government would constitute a authenticated committee comprise of renowned Ulma-e-Kiram (religious scholars) within two month to abolish the conspiracies hatched by those elements who do not believe in Phrophethood and to stop misuse of Islamic principles as guaranteed by the constitution.
- Asia Bibi, convicted for blasphemy, to be punished as per court orders and that she has not been sent aboard.
- Government would conduct a comprehensive inquiry into recent change of wording in the declaration of Phrophethood (Khatam-e-Nabuwat) in Election Reform Bill 2017 and to public probe’s outcome before the nation within 20 days.
The government would identify and punish individual (if found) involved in the recent change of wording in the amendment bill and Ulma-e-Kiram would be taken into confidence.
- Government of Pakistan to continue moral, diplomatic and political support to Rohingya Muslims being massacred in Myanmar and Pakistan would work with Turkey for rehabilitation of Burmese Muslims and all details would be published.
- Federal government would advise provincial government of Punjab to ensure already existing policy on numbers of load speakers being used in mosques.
- Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, in presence of Ulma-e-Kiram, would give explanation about his controversial statements.
