SRINAGAR, Oct 13 (TNS): Chairman of All Parties Hurryet Conference (APHC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Sunday slammed pro Indian National Conference president Farooq Abdullah for dismissing talk of an independent Kashmir, saying power hungry politicians have always played deceit with people of occupied Himalayan State.

Blaming pro Indian politicians for the prevailing political uncertainty and chaos in Jammu and Kashmir, Geelani asked instead of speaking against the wishes and aspirations of the people, Farooq Abdullah needs to revisit annals of history.

“These power-hungry, irresponsible and short-sighted politicians have always played deceit and served the interests of their Indian masters. They are barefaced, follow their treacherous politics and are never ashamed of their absurd statements,” Geelani said in a statement here.

Abdullah, who is a member of Indian Parliament from Srinagar, had said Saturday that talk of an independent Kashmir was “wrong” as the Valley is landlocked and surrounded by three nuclear powers.
