LAHORE, Nov 15 (TNS): Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday launched operation against honey processing companies across the provincial province.
According to a PFA spokesman, a team led by DG Noor-Ul-Amin Mengal checked 17 different companies in various cities, issued warning notices to 13 units and imposed fine to four companies on using bleu drums and substandard packing material.
DG Noor-Ul-Amin Mengal said that now only pure honey would be sold in the market and the companies involved in preparing substandard honey would be sealed.
He said that in winter, use of honey increases and some companies sale substandard honey which is mostly used in child foods. DG warned that strict action would be taken against the companies involved in preparing substandard honey.
