Islamabad, Nov. 17 (TNS): Chief Commissioner Islamabad briefed Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior on ongoing protest in Islamabad.
Former Interior minister Rehman Malik chaired the meeting.
Senator Rehman Malik asked Chief Commissioner why the Islamabad administration not took steps before protesters lockdown and paralyzed the federal capital.
PPP senior leader said that if administration wanted, they could have stopped protests before reaching Islamabad.
He said staging protest is the right of every citizen, but it is a crime to hurt people in name of protest.
“The management could reduce the suffering of the masses”, Malik said adding that instead of using power, protest should be called off by negotiations.
He asked the administration about their plan after court orders to end sit-in till Saturday morning.
“We all believe in “Phrophethood” and it is part of our faith. Senator Rehman Malik concluded.
Meanwhile, Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior condemns recent wave of terrorism in Balochistan.
The Senate body noted that India has allocated huge funds to sabotage CPEC by destabilizing Balochistan.
