Amid protests NH&MWP issues advisory for commuters

Islamabad, Nov. 26 (TNS): Motorway M-I from Peshawar to Islamabad is open for all kind of traffic, state media reported on Sunday.

The spokesperson Motorway Police Mahmood Ali Khokhar said that the traffic coming from Peshawar is being diverted at Tarnol interchange to alternative routes to reach Islamabad.

He said that Motorway M-2 from Rawalpindi to Lahore, M-3 from Pindi-Bhattian to Faisalabad and M-4 from Faisalabad to Gojra are closed for all kind of traffic.

The spokesperson said that traffic on GT Road at various points, including Taxila, Swaan, T-Chowk, Mandra, Gujar Khan, Lala Musa, Sara-e-Alamgir, Chan Da Qila, Kamonke, Muridke, Ravi Rayon, Pakka Meel, Loharan Wala Khooh, Mohlanwal, and Cheecha Watni is suspended.

He urged the commuters to follow the directions of motorway police to make their journey safe. He asked the general public to avoid unnecessary journey to avoid inconvenience and people should take guidance and updates from National Highway Authority’s Helpline 130 before embarking upon a journey.
