Up-to-date Railway Reservation Office at Rawalpindi Railway Station inaugurated

RAWALPINDI Nov 30 (TNS): Chairperson, Ministry of Railways, Mrs. Parveen Agha has inaugurated up-to-date Railway Reservation Office at Rawalpindi Railway Station on Thursday to aid the rail passengers in purchasing tickets effortlessly.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the old railway reservation office has been fully refurbished and upgraded to provide improved services to nearly 4,000 passengers who daily use rail service from Rawalpindi Railway Station to reach their destinations.

The passengers purchase tickets amounting to Rs. 3.5 million daily on an average from the main reservation office. The improved reservation office has also been made centrally air-conditioned. Latest digital monitors and electronic boards have been installed at the office.

Laptops have been provided to reservation clerks.

The government was giving exceptional care towards the facilities being provided to the rail passengers, including modern railways reservation offices. The total cost of renovation of reservation office, including civil and electric work, is approximately Rs.2 million.

This particular reservation office was inaugurated by M. Khan Junejo, Former Railway Minister, in 1979.After inauguration it is been upgraded for the first time under the leadership of Kh. Saad Rafique, Federal Minister for Railways.
