ISTANBUL Dec 13 (TNS): The Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif currently here to attend the extraordinary summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) over U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital has expressed optimism that OIC will succeed in its mission.
He made this statement when the newly appointed mayor of Istanbul H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Uysal held an exclusive meeting with him.
Mayor of Istanbul appreciating CM’s presence in Istanbul said we are all Muslim brothers and united on the issue of Jerusalem to which we will InshaAllah find a solution.
In response, the CM Punjab expressed great pleasure that he is visiting Turkey once again, and said, “Turkey is a country very close to my heart. The relations between the two are exemplary based on a rich reservoir of mutual goodwill.”
“There are also transcendental spiritual bonds between the two countries because of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi and Allama Muhammad Iqbal,” he added.
Acknowledging Turkey’s unfailing support and assistance to Punjab’s social sector, the CM extended thanks to Turkey for intensifying collaboration with Pakistan across a vast range of areas.
Commending Istanbul as a model city the CM said it is being followed across Punjab province, in Metro Bus, Solid Waste Management and Public Transport Projects.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab government is thankful to the government and people of Turkey for always extending generous cooperation.
He said that the agreements between Pakistan and Turkey are a proof of unflinching friendship between Pakistan and Turkey and he gives credit for all these achievements to Turk leadership.
“We are proud of the great leadership of Turkey and desire further cementing of bilateral relations between Turkey and Pakistan,” he said.
