PM Abbasi rules out the possibility of early elections

London, Dec. 14 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi ruled out the possibility of early elections, saying the interim set-up would only assume power in June next year.

Talking to newsmen along with Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in London, he said government will complete its tenure and an interim government will be established in June 2018 to ensure that the  general elections were held on time.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says democracy will continue to prevail in the country and there is no threat to the democracy.

To a question about OIC summit in Istanbul, he said Islamic world has taken a clear stance regarding Bait-Ul-Muqaddas and the United States will have to think over its decision.

The premier said the NA speaker’s statement reflected his personal views. He vowed to remove all his apprehensions in this regard.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Sadiq had said he did not see assemblies finishing termas “what’s happening now has never been witnessed before”.
