Islamabad December 15 (TNS): IG Islamabad police Dr. Sultan Azam Taimuri on Friday highlighted importance of sports saying that athletic activities play an important role in developing and maintaining human life and helping build a healthy society.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Dr. Sultan Sultan Taimuri, expressed this remarks at the inaugural ceremony of the cricket tournament at Islamabad’s Bhutto Ground.
Dr. Sultan Azam Taimuri formally inaugurated the cricket tournament on the interdivision level in Islamabad.
Inaugural ceremony was kicked off by recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
On this occasion, DIG Security Waqar Ahmed Chohan, DI G Operations Mir Wais Niaz, SSP Operations Islamabad, Sajjid Kayani, AIG Special branch, Muhammad Alyas, SSP Traffic Malik Matlob Ahmed, SSP Security Jamil Ahmed Hashmi, SSP Headquarter Mohammad Bin Ashraf, SP City Sheikh Zubair Ahmed, SP Sadar Amir Khan Nazi, SP Traffic Khalid Rashid, SP Special branch Arsala Salim, other representatives, police officers and youth attended the event.
An opening match of interdivision Cricket Tournament was played between Logistic Division and Operations Division.
Speaking to as a chief guest, IG Islamabad Police lauded efforts of SSP Mohammad Bin Ashraf, Sports Officer Mohammad Ayub Awan, Assistant Sports Officer Mohammad Tahir for arranging successful sports event.
Taimuri appreciated such activities and said that sports activities play an important role in the development of human life and help build a healthy society.
