ChildLife Foundation wins top 3 awards in Dubai ESEM Conference-2017

KARACHI Dec 16 (TNS): Pakistani non-profit organisation ChildLife won all 3 Awards for Best Poster Presentation at the Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine (ESEM) Conference 2017 held in Dubai.

According to a press releases issued on Saturday, ChildLife won top 3 “Best Poster Presentation” out of 89 posters presented this year at the ESEM.

The topics that won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were using Short Messaging Services (SMS) for Behavior change in an Emergency Room setting, Convention of Short-Messaging-Service as a tool to improve Patient Satisfaction in Emergency Rooms and Combine Therapy of Omeprazole & Ranitidine in Pediatric Emergency Department.

ChildLife also participated last year with 12 research abstracts on topics like Telemedicine in Public Sector Hospitals and Post Discharge Patient Outcome. Dr. Irfan Habib – Head of Clinical Affairs at ChildLife Foundation also conducted a Workshop on “Root Cause Analysis – Mortality & Morbidity Meetings”.

It is to be noted that with three successful and rapidly growing editions and more than 1100 delegates, 30+ participating countries, and an exceptional scientific program delivered by over 100 reputable local and international speakers, the ESEM is becoming the largest and best Emergency Medicine Conference in the Middle East.

Also, the conference has been comprehensively organized to capture the excellent innovations in Emergency Medicine, primarily in the areas of pre-hospital care, Trauma, Toxicology, Disaster Medicine, Pediatric EM, Emergency Nursing, Simulations, Public Health, Research Updates and other sub branches related to the field of emergency medicine.

ESEM has become the largest Emergency Medicine Conference in the region attended by thousands of delegates from all over the world. The participation criteria require that all abstracts must be submitted in English using the online submission form on the ESEM website.

ChildLife Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to the delivery of quality urgent medical care to children.

ChildLife began its operations in October 2011 by renovating the pediatric ER at Civil Hospital, Karachi. In May 2013, ChildLife Foundation was invited by the administration of National Institute of Child Health to support their pediatric ER. In June 2016, ChildLife’s third pediatric ER at Sindh Government Hospital Korangi-5 became operational.

To-date, ChildLife Foundation’s three emergency rooms have treated more than 1.6 million children free of cost. The current Telemedicine program at these three ERs results in saving at least one additional life per hour. Also, In November 28, 2017, ChildLife foundation has started supporting Pediatric Emergency Room through telemedicine at Sindh Government Hospital, New Karachi.
