London, Dec. 26 (TNS): Nobel laureate and social activist Malala Yousafzai on Tuesday demanded the government to merge the Federally Adminstered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

“I strongly demand that the government not delay FATA reforms any further and merge FATA with KP as soon as possible,” said Malala.

She added that the move would enable the people of FATA to have equal rights, both Constitutional and civic, which all Pakistanis are entitled to.”

The activist further said that the people of the tribal areas have as much right over Pakistan as citizens living in other parts of the country, but “unfortunately for the last few decades, are deprived of their basic human rights”.

Malala, expressing her solidarity with the FATA youth jirga, also requested all Pakistanis to stand with the citizens of the tribal areas and help them in attaining justice.
