NEW DELHI Dec 29 (TNS): The Indian foreign minister Sushma Sawaraj claimed that the convicted RAW spy Kulbhushan Jadhav confessed before his mother and wife only because of duress, as she spit venom over the humanitarian gesture from Pakistan.

While her address before parliament, she alleged Pakistan of pressurising the Indian spy and using the friendly gesture as propaganda. Sawaraj rejected the claims of Foreign Office (FO) in Pakistan that there was something inside the shoes of Jadhav’s wife.

Indian media admitted on Thursday that Jadhav confessed to his mother saying he is not a businessman, but a spy. Talking to Lok Sabha, the Indian minister blamed Pakistan of mistreating the visitors and not respecting the cultural and religious sensitivities.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minister Subramanian Swamy had earlier warned India that war with Pakistan is inevitable. He suggested that should start doing serious homework for the war, adding that he doesn’t imply that the war will take place immediately.

Pakistan had arranged a meeting of terrorist Kulbhushan Jadhav with his wife and mother on December 25. FO had said that the meeting took place as humanitarian gesture, adding that Jadhav is the face of Indian terrorism in Pakistan.

Jadhav was arrested in March 2016 from Balochistan. The in-service Indian navy officer was tried by a military court and sentenced to death after he confessed to be working against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), creating unrest in Balochistan and parts of Pakistan on orders of the Indian intelligence agency.
