Quality education to be provided to children of policemen, says IGP

ISLAMABAD Jan 12 (TNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri has said that it is his great desire and vision to ensure quality education facilities to children of every policeman.

It was stated by him while presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office held to review the education and admission facilities to the children of policemen at government and private educational institutions of Islamabad. The meeting was attended among others by Chairman and Member Private Educational Institution Regulatory Authority (PIERA), CEOs and Administrators of private schools and colleges.

The IGP said that a school would be established for children of employees of Islamabad police and utmost efforts would be made to ensure quality education to them. He said that cooperation of every one is required in this regard and asked for concession in fees of private schools for children of policemen.

Temuri said that Islamabad police has constituted Human Rights and Child Protection Committee and women police station would be also upgraded. He said that volunteer programs are being started outside educational institutions of Islamabad for awareness about traffic discipline and security. He said that assistance of administrators of schools would be required in this regard.

He said that crackdown against drug peddling activities is being initiated at educational institutions and awareness campaign would be also launched to remain safe from this menace. He said that administrators should also monitor their staff to check such activities and to inform police in case of observing any suspicious activity.

The IGP asked the administrators to launch awareness sessions with parents of children to ensure their security and Islamabad police would cooperate in this regard. All the participants assured IGP their full cooperation and gave the suggestions to improve the situation.
