New Delhi, Jan. 21 (TNS): Two soldiers injured in retaliate firing by Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir succumbed to their injuries on Sunday, taking the toll of people killed in border clashes in Jammu region to 11, Indian officials say.
Sepoy C.K. Roy, injured in Mankote area in Poonch district on Saturday, succumbed to injuries in a hospital on Sunday. Signalman Chandan Kumar Rai, also injured in Mankote, died on Sunday too, Indian Defence Ministry officials said.
With this, the death toll in Pakistani retaliate action since January 19 has risen to 11.
Pakistan Foreign Office summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh for fourth time in 4 days at Foreign Office Islamabad on Sunday to lodge strong protest over continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
During the latest violation by Indian occupation forces eighteen Indian posts resorted to unprovoked firing with mortars and heavy weapons in the Nikiyal sector at the Line of Control, as a result of which two innocent civilians embraced shahadat and three others injured.
