Brussels, Jan. 23 (TNS): Pakistan’s Parliamentary Delegation, headed by Minister for Defence Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, held a meeting with Heads of Groups and Committees in the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday.
Talking to Manfred Weber, Chair of the European People’s Party Group in the European Parliament, the Minister for Defence said relations with the EU countries have further strengthened after GSP Plus scheme.
On the occasion, Manfred Weber appreciated Pakistan’s role in fight against terrorism and said European Union has always favoured a stronger Pakistan.
Meanwhile, during a meeting with GSP Plus monitoring committee, Khurram Dastgir Khan clarified that Pakistan has always preferred trade over aid as a means for development.
He added that with increased energy supply, Pakistan will be able to fully utilize the potential of the GSP Plus facility.
