MARDAN, Jan 27 (TNS): The All Parties Conference (APC) held under the district government of Mardan has on Saturday demanded to include terrorism and physical torture acts in Asma’s rape and murder case.
The APC has expressed concerns over lack of progress in its declaration and said the culprits should be arrested as soon as possible.
Local leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) attended the APC.
Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Iftikhar Mashwani represented the government whereas locals in large numbers had also come along with Jirga leaders.
The latest developments in Asma murder case were discussed in the APC, and the suo moto notice taken by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was welcomed. The APC demanded the CJP to bring the responsible persons to justice.
While issuing the proclamation, Mardan District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar said forensic laboratories should be made in all divisions of the province. It was also demanded to involve intelligence agencies in the interrogation.
Let it be known that Asma had gone missing on January 14 in Mardan’s Gujar Garhi area, and her dead body was found from sugarcane fields near her home on January 15 after rape.
Four-year-old’s parents are still looking for justice on the 14th day of the murder of their daughter as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police are unable to arrest the culprit.
