LAHORE April 16 (TNS): A resolution was submitted to the Punjab Assembly on Monday, seeking to condemn the alleged attack on Supreme Court judge Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf resolution demanded that the authorities provide foolproof security to the judges to avoid such incidents in the future.
It is not yet clear whether or not the fire was shot, two empty shells of 9mm pistols were found on the premises of the judge. It is highly puzzling how the shells made their way into the house without shots being fired and in the presence of heavy deployment of security personnel in the vicinity and outside the judge’s house.
Soon after the incident surfaced, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar summoned the Punjab Inspector General and ordered him to probe the matter from different angles while the chief justice himself “vowed” to monitor the case.

The Punjab government has already formed a Joint Investigation Team headed by Additional IG Punjab Mohammad Tahir and DIG Investigation Sultan Chaudhry to probe the incident. The probe team has also members from the Military Intelligence, the Inter-Services Intelligence, the Intelligence Bureau, the Special Branch and others.
