LHC directs PEMRA to take note of anti-judiciary speeches

Lahore April 16 (TNS): A Lahore high court bench on Monday directed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to take notice of the anti-judiciary speeches delivered by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz leaders during their public appearances and on different TV channels.

The bench sought a report from the PEMRA in 15 days, detailing what action or measures the regulatory body has put in place to stop anti-judiciary speeches from being broadcast.

The bench also directed the PEMRA to stop media outlets and TV channels from airing anti-judiciary speeches for 15 days.
