Abbasi urges World Bank to help resolve water dispute between Pakistan, India

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has urged the World Bank to help resolve water dispute between Pakistan and India by effectively playing the role mandated to it under Indus Water Treaty (IWT).

The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan looks forward to World Bank’s support in the timely completion of the ongoing developmental projects. He informed the delegation of the overall reform agenda of the present government which has resulted in revival of the economy, putting economic growth on an upward trajectory.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government is also taking concrete measures to improve ease of doing business in the country.He said that significant improvement of law and order, management of energy crisis and massive infrastructure development under the umbrella of CPEC are strengthening the economy.

Both sides also discussed various ongoing developmental projects being undertaken in partnership with the World Bank and the dispute with India over Kishanganga and Ratle projects.
