Two gunned down outside Lahore court

LAHORE Jan 31 (TNS): A head constable and an under-custody suspect were killed in a shooting incident outside Lahore’s session’s court on Wednesday.

An under-custody suspect, identified as Malik Amjad, was shot dead after gunmen opened fire within the vicinity of the sessions court.

Earlier, a clash between two groups was reported after which one group resorted to indiscriminate firing.

Amjad’s accomplice, Ahsan, and Head Constable Asif were also injured in the firing. Asif succumbed to his wounds on his way to the hospital.

Sources said that the head constable had come in the way after the unidentified gunmen opened fire at the under-trial prisoners.

It was reported the incident occurred outside the court of Additional Sessions Judge Imran Shafi.

All the gates of the sessions court have been shut and search for the suspects is underway.
