PESHAWAR, Jan 03 (TNS): To win over the provincial bureaucracy Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has sanctioned Executive Allowance to the tune of 1.5 Initial Basic Pay per month to PAS, PCS and PMS Officers working against scheduled posts of Establishment and Administrative Department.
According to the notification issued by regulating wing of finance department of the special allowance as per Scale 2017 to above mentioned categories of the officers working against scheduled posts of Establishment and Administrative Department as per rates against BS 17- 21 i’e initial basic pay scale from 30370- 76720.
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) cabinet met at the civil secretariat with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the chair. It approved the executive allowance, later renamed as the schedule posts allowance. Officers of the Provincial Management Services (PMS), Provincial Civil Services (PCS) and the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) groups working the province will benefit from the allowance.
The provincial bureaucracy consisted of 802 officers, including 483 in BPS-17, who will get Rs38,000 per month; 164 in BPS-18, who would get Rs47,165; 90 in BPS-19, who would receive Rs74,055; 51 in BPS-20, who would get Rs86,115, and 13 in BPS-21, who would receive Rs95, 670.
The cabinet also approved hefty sums as senior executive allowance for the chief secretary and inspector general on the pattern of such payment in Punjab.
This move is likely to cost the province’s kitty Rs462.92 million per annum.
The move comes weeks after the K-P government upgraded 75,722 employees in various pay scales apart from regularizing 4,743 contract employees working on 53 projects.
