MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 04 (TNS): A truculent Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum Valley of Azad Kashmir has beaten to pulp an aged college professor for making a complaint against smoking in public transport.
According to the TNS reporter Professor in Inter Collage Khalana, Jameel Shaidai had gone to the office of DC Ab. Hameed Kiani to register his complaint and enquire about the complacencies that prevent administration to implement the law prohibiting smoking in public transport.
Instead the Deputy Commissioner argued angrily and not only broke the nose of professor by severe beating but also lodged him in police lockup.
People of the area including a large number of students staged a protest demonstration in front of erring DC’S office and compelled him to order release of professor from police custody.

Injured professor then was taken to hospital for treatment.
It’s being said that the said DC is known for his truculence and has been many times involved in the incidents of thrashing people publically as punishment.
