Sex racket’ surfaces in Kulgam, victim rescued, 4 accused held

Srinagar, Feb. 4 (TNS): Police here in this southern district of occupied Kashmir has arrested a lady and three others in connection with sexploitation of a teenage girl, local media reported on Sunday.

Reports said that the victim girl was rescued by police from Banihal after her parents filled a written complaint with Kulgam police last month.

Police has also arrested four accused including a lady allegedly involved in the crime.

Sources claimed that the girl rescued by police made stark revelations in the court and named more people involved in the crime including a Police Officer currently posted in Jammu. Victim’s father told local media that her daughter was subjected to the sexual assault and same was filmed by one of the accused.

“I haven’t seen the video but I am telling you what my daughter told the court. My daughter was being blackmailed by these fraudsters who used threat her that they would circulate the video,” he said.

Victim’s father claimed that it wasn’t simply a case of kidnapping but a high level sex racket. “My daughter has named another victim girl as well so we want police to investigate the case fairly and unearth the scam,” he said.

“My daughter is too in police custody and police is cooperating with the family at every level”, he added. The family thanked police for rescuing their daughter within 24hours.

An official at police station Kulgam admitted to have rescued the girl and confirmed the detention of three people including two females. A case FIR 20 U/S 363, 120-B has been registered at Police station Kulgam.

SSP Kulgam, Sridhar Patil told that investigation into the case are going on and shortly the details will be shared with press through a press statement.
