Top hotels, eateries in Lahore fined for selling polluted food

Lahore June 24 (TNS): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Saturday fined top hotels and food eateries in several areas of Lahore for failing to maintain mandatory hygienic requirements and selling unhygienic and substandard food items.

The PFA team under the supervision of director operations inspected hotels including Sakura Kitchen, Dum Pukht Kitchen, Samosa Patti bakery, Avari Hotel, Dynasty Kitchen, Big Man Restaurant, Ambassador Hotel, Hotel One, Rahat Bakery and others and found that the food was being prepared in unhygienic conditions in total disregard for hygiene and health safety regime.

The raiding team also imposed heavy fines on the eateries for dishing out unhygienic and polluted food to the customers.

Meanwhile, samples were also collected from these restaurants and were dispatched for testing.

The hotel owners and management were also warned to stop selling sub-standard food items and improve hygiene conditions or face strict action in the future.
