Lahore, Feb. 4 (TNS): In a major political development, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed on Sunday formally joined the Nawaz faction after reportedly being assured of a senate ticket, local media reported.

According to reports Mushahid, once the blue-eyed boy of Nawaz Sharif, made the decision after a meeting with former prime minister at Jati Umra earlier on Sunday morning.

During the meeting –attended by the premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz, Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique – Mushahid formally assured of joining PML-N.

Until 1999, Senator Mushahid remained an active member of PML-N as a trusted member. He held the post of information ministry.

However, he joined PML-Q during the tenure of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf and was elected as a senator from Islamabad on a technocrat seat. His senate tenure end in 2018.
