Turkmen Ambassador calls on NSA to discuss Pak-Turkmenistan ties

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (TNS): National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua says Pakistan can offer connectivity to Turkmenistan to multiply bilateral economic potential.

He was talking to Turkmen Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov in Islamabad on Thursday.

The NSA said that cooperation in energy sector is a big lead forward between the two countries.

Matters pertaining to promotion of bilateral relations, issues regarding defence cooperation and overall regional security situation came under discussion.

The Ambassador stressed the need for increasing the momentum of bilateral meetings to strengthen cooperation.

Discussing TAPI gas pipeline project, the envoy said that Turkmenistan considers Pakistan as a strategic partner for this project and is ready to cooperate with Pakistan in energy sector.

He also highlighted the fact that the two countries have shared views on major regional and international issues concerning peace and security.
